Patch Designer

What Patch Designer does

Creates AI-generated patch mockups from your description and/or reference images, then presents an image preview and a structured spec card.
Saves every generated design to “My Designs” so you can reload and iterate later.
Lets you download your mockup as a PNG or a polished PDF that includes your selections and specifications.
Before you begin

You must accept the Terms of Use modal to access the tool.
Image generation may be rate-limited; if exceeded, you’ll see “⚠️ Image generation limit exceeded.” Try again later.
How to create a design (4 steps + generate)

Step 1 – Add Your Design
Describe your idea in the text area (10+ characters) and/or upload up to 4 reference images (JPG/PNG/GIF/SVG; camera capture supported on mobile).
Drag and drop works; thumbnails appear under the text area. Remove any by clicking “Remove.”
You can also click “My Designs” inside Step 1 to reuse a previous design as your starting image.
Click “Use This Design” to confirm Step 1 and continue.
Step 2 – Select Patch Shape
Choose the patch outline (e.g., circle, shield, rectangle). Your selection shows in the step preview.
Step 3 – Choose Style/Type
Pick a production style (e.g., Embroidered, Woven, Chenille, Sublimated, Screen Printed, PVC/Molded, Silicone/Rubber, Leather, PennEtch, PennFlex).
Click the blue “i” icon on each option for an image preview and details.
Step 4 – Pick Garment/Mockup
Choose how to visualize your patch: on a garment (jacket, hat, polo, etc.) or a flat mockup.
Generate

Click “✨ Generate Patch Mockup.” A loading overlay appears (“This usually takes 1–2 minutes”).
When complete, the mockup appears in the Preview pane. Click the image to open a full-size lightbox.
Spec card: what it is and where it appears

After a successful generation, a “Patch Specifications” section (spec card) appears under the Preview.
It typically includes: Style, Size, Colors, Border, Garment, Notes, plus any helpful Resources/links.
If instructed by the AI, the spec card may be auto-extracted and displayed; otherwise ask, “Please produce the spec card for this design,” and the system will render it under the preview once returned.
Downloading your results

Download Image: Saves the current mockup image (PNG).
Download PDF: Builds a polished PDF that includes:
Title, date, company branding
Your mockup image (centered)
Design Requirements (description, shape, style, border color, garment)
Patch Specifications (style, size, colors, border, garment, notes, resources)
Use the Download PDF button under the Preview after the image/spec card is visible.
Finding old images and reusing designs

Click “My Designs” (grid icon) in the Preview header to open your personal gallery.
The gallery auto-loads your saved designs. Each item shows a thumbnail, title, and date.
Actions per item:
“• Spec Card PDF” button: Restores the saved mockup and spec card into the Preview. Then click Download PDF to export.
“+ Add to Designer” button: Reuses this saved mockup as your Step 1 starting image and restores prior selections (shape, style, garment).
“×” delete: Permanently removes the design.
Logged-in users: designs persist across sessions. Guests: designs are tied to your browser session.
If an older image URL has expired, reload or re-generate, then save again.
Tips and troubleshooting

If the Generate button is disabled, ensure Step 1 is confirmed (“Use This Design”) and Steps 2–4 are selected.
If the spec card doesn’t appear, ask the AI to include a spec card; once returned, it will display under the preview and be included in the PDF.
If you hit rate limits, wait for the configured period and try again.
The Preview image is auto-saved to “My Designs”; you can still click Save when shown, but auto-save runs silently in the background.
To iterate on a prior design, use “My Designs” → “+ Add to Designer,” adjust any step, and Generate again.
